According to reports, the general difficulty level of the IBPS PO Mains Exam, which was held on November 30, 2024, was moderate to difficult. This is a thorough section-by-section analysis:

1. Reasoning and Computer Aptitude:
Topics include logical thinking, computer-related queries, machine input-output, puzzles, and seating configurations (such as circular and linear).

The level of difficulty is moderate to challenging.
Good Efforts: About 25–30.

2. Interpretation and Analysis of Data:
Caselets, bar and pie charts, and arithmetic-based data interpretation are among the topics covered.
Moderate difficulty.
Good Efforts: 18–22.

3. English language:
Subjects covered include error detection, language restructuring, and reading comprehension.
Moderate difficulty.
Good Efforts: 20–24.

4. General Awareness: 
Current events, financial knowledge, and static GK were all addressed in this session.

5. Descriptive Writing:

3 Stages

1. Preliminary Exam

This is a qualifying stage to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam.

  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Sections:
    • English Language: 30 questions, 30 marks (20 minutes)
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions, 35 marks (20 minutes)
    • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions, 35 marks (20 minutes)

2. Mains Exam

This is the key stage for selection.

  • Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
  • Total Marks: 225
  • Sections:
    • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 45 questions, 60 marks (60 minutes)
    • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 35 questions, 60 marks (45 minutes)
    • General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks (35 minutes)
    • English Language: 35 questions, 40 marks (40 minutes)
    • Descriptive Test: 2 questions (Essay and Letter Writing), 25 marks (30 minutes)

3. Interview

  • Marks: 100
  • The final score is calculated by combining the Mains (80%) and Interview (20%) scores.

Important Tips:

  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer in Prelims and Mains (excluding the descriptive test).
  • Sectional Timing: Both Prelims and Mains have sectional time limits.
